From Destruction to Hope

On Tisha B’Av, we mourn the destruction of the Temple, symbolising our feelings of loss, division, and hopelessness. Yet even in the shadow of this devastation, seeds of healing can take root, giving rise to new growth, unity and hope. 

Join us as four denominations of our Jewish community join together in our shared grief and outrage, demonstrating our Jewish unity, hope and prayers for peace.

 
Schedule:
6.30pm Maariv (Evening services)
     4 Options: Progressive, Masorti, Modern Orthodox  or contemplative readings
7pm Havdalah
    followed by chanting of Eicha (Lamentations) & Kinot (Poetic Dirges)
8pm Screening of "The Very Narrow Bridge"
    followed by Q & A with Filmmaker Esther Takac
 
About the film:

This powerful documentary follows two Israeli and two Palestinian families — before and after October 7th — as they journey through grief, anger, and trauma toward resilience, courage and reconciliation.
